for example one may have a British, American

showing which part of the word should be stressed.
The word Deliberate is pronounced DIL' - eberet
(stress on the first syllable and the last
e is silent.
Premises = PREM' - isis (stress
on the first syllable).

'mus' & not 'mos'

of you is largely by the way you speak. A
bad pronunciation lowers their assessment
of you - perhaps very unfairly, but that is
the only yardstick of initial impression.
